Shut Up and Get plastered!

Things are moving at great speed now, so thought I had better do a quick update before its finished!!  Charlie's room is finished and the shutters have been fitted...

The garage is finally nearly empty again, however not for long as this week I have ordered 14 Oak Doors for downstairs and a new bathroom suite as they start the bathroom on Monday!  The Oak and Glazed doors will be a mixture of solid, clear and opaque as we need to maximise light in this house because we have an "inner" hall and landing.  I sourced my doors from http://www.kaybeedoors.co.uk in Liverpool and the hardware is being supplied by our friend Mark at http://www.beaverai.co.uk/.

We will be using two large and two small doors to create some new french doors between the lounge and extension, replacing the old patio doors below.

I have been busy coordinating tilers and bathroom fittings too, we are sourcing our fittings from Helen at http://hlilley.co.uk/ in Biggin Hill and the tiles are now coming from Topps tiles as the original ones we chose from Boydens are apparently very difficult to fit as they are too big!

In the kitchen and extension the walls are plastered, the ceilings painted and the kitchen is all fitted.  However, still microwave cooking for me as the ovens need wiring in and the hob cant be fitted until the work tops have been templated and fitted in about two weeks!  I am a little adverse to the thought of using my new ovens next week, before everything is finished...but needs must as it really is quite challenging cooking using just a microwave and a slow cooker.

I am not always sure if I have put in all the links for where I have got stuff, so on my final post I will do a list of all my suppliers which may be handy for anyone doing any work on their homes.  I certainly have enough of a portfolio of suppliers and trades to do this property lark as a job....just a shame I dont have the funds!!
