The Big Reveal!!

OK, so first apologies for the delay, unbelievably we are still awaiting the final piece of glass splash back! And I have been rather poorly.  I was hoping to do a video but have opted for some captioned pictures for speed, I will try and get a video done one evening as I can demonstrate the lighting then too. Some before and after shots to start with, followed by some different angles and finally the completed bathroom.

A word of warning to anyone putting in a new bathroom, if you don't have a pressurised system you could end up with fantastic looking modern taps which "dribble" water! We now have three choices (as British Gas weren't bright enough to sell us a pressurised system last year) ;
1: we fork out another £1500 for a pressurised (i.e. mains fed) system and sell our brand new £300 shower pump 2nd hand
2: We replace all the new taps  which cost us around £500
3: We have the taps connected to our pump which does risk our tank emptying too quickly if we don't stagger our use.
Great, so we are opting for 3 at the moment, which actually shouldn't be a problem except maybe when we have guests.  Basically all parties blame each other for this, so my best advice is check and double check before you buy your fittings!

The ensuite and master bed are due for completion in the next 10 days so watch out for further updates. Thanks for reading.

Two become one!

Ok so we finally have one large "Jack and Jill" family bathroom rather than the cupboard sized guest en suite and small family bathroom............no final pics I'm afraid as Miles has to put all the accessories up and the side of the bath still needs tiling (later today so I'm reliably informed!!), but see some pics below of before and in between.

Original Family Bathroom..beige!!

I have also completed the decorating of the guest bedroom, so just two more bedrooms to go.  The plumber is ripping out our en-suite as I type (its right above my head as I am in the study so a bit noisy!) and I am planning to start our room next week.  The builder is booked to do the Sun Tunnel, carpenter booked to do the doors and bannister's,  other half booked to do the decking  (Oh and he has fitted a new utility room, just waiting for it to be tiled), so we've been rather busy.  Just need to organise someone to fit a new fireplace and get the lawn turfed plus some more plastering, electrics and tons more painting!!!  The glass splash backs are finally being fitted today...hooray so "The Big Reveal" is imminent. Phew!  Here are some Guest bedroom pics, note the IKEA converted chair using my newly acquired upholstery skills......
Oops nearly forgot a before shot,
but see bathroom shot above too!
